Sculpted by Jay Tschetter, they reflect photographs gathered for the sesquicentennial book project, Nebraska’s First College. The left image is of W.H. Hoyt, long time faculty member and namesake of Hoyt Science Hall. The right image shows Normal Hall, most often referred to as Old Main, the original building in the space now occupied by Hoyt Hall and the Performing Arts Center. The photos and sculpture share a background of the hills of Peru, as you would see them, from the vantage point of the current buildings.
