Dean's Welcome

 Welcome to Peru State College School of Education, a National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accredited institution. As Dean of the School, it is my sincere privilege to share with you the various programs and learning experiences we provide to ensure students in Peru are highly engaged in a quality education that walks a path toward future success.

Presently, the School of Education provides teacher certification programs in early childhood, elementary education, middle-level education, secondary education, and special education. We also have a variety of field, subject, and supplemental endorsements available for you to consider. In addition to teacher preparation, we offer a path in Kinesiology, which is an excellent option for students seeking a career in sport and exercise science.

The faculty in the School of Education come with great experience and knowledgeable backgrounds.  Each faculty member seeks to help students become reflective learners, effective communicators, and active problem-solvers that are capable to enter the workforce with the appropriate technological fluency skills.  Choosing the School of Education at Peru State College, affords students the opportunity to not only learn course-based knowledge but also experience field-based practices providing exposure to area PK-12 classrooms.

In addition to undergraduate programs for certification, Peru State College offers a Master of Science in Education degree with a major in Curriculum and Instruction. This advanced program is available entirely online or through an online e-cohort that allows you to complete the program within a community of learners.
