Peru, Nebraska – Annually, Nebraska-based accounting firms and small colleges convene at the Meet the Firms event. Accounting majors from a variety of institutions have the chance to connect with these companies to secure internships or permanent employment. Business, Economics, and Finance majors are encouraged to attend, as some of the participating firms offer opportunities in these fields as well. This year, Nebraska Wesleyan University hosted the event at the Snyder Arena, located in the Weary Athletic Center. Our students have access to numerous opportunities, such as this event, to prepare for their future after college.
Students attending Peru State College included Tabi Sidders, Sophia Kouba, Isaac Skalak, Steph Poole, Kelsey Gorman, and Trevor Gehring.
Tabi Sidders stated, “I enjoyed my experience, with no intention of finding a job going in, came home from the event excited to apply to a firm or two for internships, looking forward to my career.”
Isaac Skalak is one of our accounting & CPA option students who attended Meet the Firms this year. He stated “The Meet the Firms event was truly a great event for any aspiring accountants. The opportunity to meet and network with so many firms at once does not come around very often. It was an amazing way to meet the firms, set up internships, and possibly careers for the future.”
