Peru, NE- Peru State College's School of Education is pleased to announce its recent accomplishment of national accreditation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) on April 23rd. CAEP requires educator preparation providers (EPPs) to undergo a peer review process based on two key principles: providing solid evidence of the competence and compassion of their graduates as educators and demonstrating the EPP's capacity to establish a culture of evidence that enhances and maintains the quality of their professional programs.

The CAEP accreditation is a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and the development of highly qualified educators. With this esteemed recognition, the School of Education at Peru State College joins an exclusive group of institutions that have shown the ability to deliver an exceptional teacher preparation program that meets the evolving demands of diverse classrooms. Dr. Dwayne Chism, the Dean of the School of Education, expressed his excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to receive CAEP accreditation as it validates the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff in preparing our teacher candidates for successful careers in education. This achievement reflects our commitment to meeting the highest standards in teacher education and our ongoing efforts to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to make a positive impact in the field."

The rigorous CAEP accreditation process assesses various aspects of an educator preparation program, including mission and goals, program design and resources, candidate recruitment and selectivity, curriculum and instruction, assessment and data collection, clinical experiences, and program impact. Obtaining CAEP accreditation and meeting all seven standards marks a significant milestone for the School of Education and Peru State College. It continues its long-standing tradition of delivering high-quality education, fostering an innovative and continuously improving culture, and equipping aspiring educators with the tools they need to excel in their careers.

Peru State College will proudly display the CAEP accreditation seal, demonstrating its commitment to excellence in teacher education, on all official communication materials, website, and other relevant platforms.
