Peru State Spring Bands Concert – April 21

Peru, Nebraska – The Peru State College Concert Band and Jazz band will perform their second shared concert of the semester on Thursday, April 21, at 6:00 p.m. The concert will be held in the Performing Arts Center on the campus of the College.

The Concert Band will break into small ensemble groups in order to present works by composers such as Béla Bartók and Fritz Kreisler. The Irish traditional tune “Londonderry Air” will also be played, and one of the percussion groups has composed their own original piece.

The full concert band will play an exciting piece of programmatic music entitled “Into the Raging River.” The Jazz Band will play pieces of varying styles and will feature vocalist Jaelynn Muhr, senior elementary education and K-12 vocal/instrumental music major from Mitchell, on “Over the Rainbow.”

On Thursday, April 28, at 11:30 a.m., the Peru State College Jazz Band will perform on the Jindra Patio in the campus quad.

The campus and surrounding community is invited to enjoy the weather as the Peru State Jazz Band plays for everyone during their lunch hour!

The bands are under the direction of Dr. Joshua Roach and Mr. Mark Benson.
