Peru, Nebraska – The Peru State Science Club was awarded the Thomas Ediger Award. The Thomas Edgier Award is designed to honor an outstanding club or organization that has shown outstanding service to the campus and its surrounding community.
The award is named in honor of Dr. Thomas Ediger, who was an award-winning teacher, performer, composer, and skilled musician at Peru State College from 1979 until his passing in 2014.
Jared Koelzer, president of student senate, said "The Peru State Science Club allows for students of all majors to enhance their understanding of their environment.”
They also participated in community outreach activities, such as zoo trips and hosting experiences that allow for interaction with different scientific fields and ideas.
The Science Club will resume in the fall and will accept new members then.
