Peru Nebraska- Peru State College welcomes Samantha Hernandez and Morgan Kroll as the incoming President and Vice President of Student Council for the 2021-2022 school year.

Samantha Hernandez is a Junior Early Childhood Education major who plans to graduate in 2023. She is the daughter of Francheska Bridges and Mynor Hernandez and comes from Columbus, Nebraska. Hernandez is the oldest of seven children.

As President of Student Council, Hernandez seeks to bring the Peru State Community together, seeking to work with students, faculty, and Peru citizens to ensure the needs of the college are met. She also looks forward to working with the new President of Peru State College.

Hernandez wrote, “As many know, President Hanson and First Lady Elaine have done everything they can to benefit campus and community. Whether it be hosting an ice cream social for freshman, attending choir and band concerts, going to every sports event, or getting to know the people of Peru, they have created the sense of community at Peru. I look forward to assisting our new President and continuing the community feel at Peru. With these goals in mind, I am excited about the opportunity to be Student Senate President for the 2021-2022 academic year.”

Morgan Kroll is a Junior K-12 Vocal and Instrumental Music Education Major who plans to graduate in 2022. She is the daughter of Robert and Amy Kroll and comes from Auburn, Nebraska. On Campus, besides student senate she is also involved in all three choral ensembles, The National Association for Music Education, and served as a Top Cat for Welcome Weekend.

Kroll wrote, “I am honored and grateful to be elected as the Student Senate Vice President alongside my friend and colleague, Samantha. Together, we are deeply passionate about rekindling the 'family-like' community that Peru State is so well known for. Just as so many other institutions, COVID-19 has taken a toll on campus life and Samantha and I plan to facilitate an environment where all students are comfortable and excited to participate in clubs, organizations, and events on campus again. I am eager to get started and be a part of the continuous improvement and growth of Peru State College!”
