LINCOLN – Governor Pete Ricketts has appointed Tyler Harms of Falls City, Neb. to serve as student trustee on the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees. He will serve a one-year term over the 2020-2021 academic year and represent Peru State College students.
“As Chair of the Board of Trustees, it is my honor to welcome the new Student Trustees,” said Gary Bieganski, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “The Trustees value the insight and student perspective these young leaders bring to the Board.”
Harms, a junior at Peru State College, is majoring in marketing and business management. Tyler is the Student Senate president, Phi Beta Lambda member, resident assistant, and Student Senate public relations designate. When discussing his appointment, Tyler stated, “I have always been passionate about Peru State College, and I want to positively impact the lives of students who attend the State Colleges. There is no better way to impact change than by being a student trustee.”
Harms is the son of Thad Harms and Susie Kreifels of Falls City, Nebraska.

The 2019-20 Student Trustees Sam Klammer of Chadron State College, Kayla Myers of
Peru State College and Ashley VanMeeteren of Wayne State College will work with the
new student trustees to orient them until their new term begins in June.
