Peru, Nebraska- Peru Theatre Company attended the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) in Sioux City, South Dakota.

Peru State students attending and performing at the festival were Bridget Dalton, Joslyn Edmond, Josh Girard, Aubri Gugelman, Devyn Jeffries, Halee Jeffries, Josh Osborne, Alfie Steele and Zach Steele. Professor Laura Lippman was also a presenter at the event, where she hosted workshops on Vocal Viewpoints and Laban Movement.

Lippman said, "Wow! What a wonderful week of theatre performances, workshops, round-table discussions, auditions and more. I’m so grateful for the College's support in order to make this event happen each year. It is so incredible for the students and for myself."

Started in 1969 by Roger L. Stevens, the Kennedy Center’s founding chairman, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) is a nation theater program involving 20,000 students from colleges and universities nationwide annually. For 47 years, the organization has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States. KCACTF has grown into a network of more than 700 academic institutions throughout the country.

The purpose of the Peru Theatre Company is to provide all Peru State College students with the opportunity to participate in an active and enjoyable group, as well as gain experience in the performing arts by participating in plays, giving speeches and any other method of performance presented to an audience of their peers.
