Peru, Nebraska – Dr. Tim Borchers, Vice President of Academic Affairs and acting Dean of the School of Professional Studies at Peru State College, announced that Dawn Castle has been awarded the James G. and Mavis Green Scholarship for the 2020-2021 school year.

The Green Scholarship is awarded to sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in business administration with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. The upperclassmen scholarship seeks to reward membership and participation in Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), a collegiate business student organization.

First preference is given to applicants from Auburn and Johnson with secondary preference for southeast Nebraska students and the surrounding areas of Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. Castle is from Imperial, NE.

Castle is involved in Phi Beta Lambda, where her performance at the state conference has made her an automatic qualifier for the national competition in 2018, 2019 and in 2020. She is also involved in Peru State's Catholic Union.

Borchers writes, “Financial assistance continues to be important for students beyond their freshman year. The Green Family’s generous support of Peru State students is an important factor in the ongoing success of our business majors – both academically and in activities like Phi Beta Lambda.”
