Peru, Nebraska – Dr. Amber Mahan, assistant professor of criminal justice at Peru State College, was appointed newsletter editor for the American Criminal Justice Association – Lambda Alpha Epsilon and associate editor of the organization’s journal.

Lambda Alpha Epsilon is a national honors society and professional organization for students and professionals in the criminal justice field. The organization's objectives include improving criminal justice through educational activities, promoting awareness of criminal justice issues, and promoting education and training in the field.

Mahan has been a member of the organization since 2016 and said she looks forward to expanding her role and participation as the new associate editor.

Mahan said, “I appreciate the recognition by the organization and recommendation from Dr. Greg Galardi.”

She is also a co-advisor, alongside Danny Hayes, instructor of criminal justice, for the chapter at Peru State College – Kappa Omicron Rho - since 2016. This chapter is in region 3, which includes Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, North and South Dakota, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah.

Mahan said, “Through this avenue, students have the opportunity to expand knowledge in the field through event participation, mentorship, research, and conferences.”

Mahan will be working alongside Dr. Greg Galardi, associate professor of business at Peru State College, who was appointed as editor for the American Criminal Justice Association – Lambda Alpha Epsilon Journal.
