Peru, Nebraska - Dr. Tim Borchers, Vice President of Academic Affairs and acting Dean of the School of Professional Studies at Peru State College, announced that Tyler Harms has been awarded the James G. and Mavis Green Scholarship for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Green Scholarship is awarded to sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in business administration with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. The upperclassmen scholarship seeks to reward membership and participation in Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), a collegiate business student organization.

First preference is given to applicants from Auburn and Johnson with secondary preference for southeast Nebraska students and the surrounding areas of Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. Harms is from Falls City, Neb.

Borchers writes, “Financial assistance continues to be important for students beyond their freshman year. The Green Family’s generous support of Peru State students is an important factor in the ongoing success of our business majors – both academically and in activities like Phi Beta Lambda.”

On campus, Harms is involved in Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), Student Senate, American Red Cross Club, and he was selected to be a Resident Assistant for the upcoming year. Harms was the Public Relations Secretary for Student Senate and was elected to be President for the upcoming year. He also works at the Business Office as a work-study student and has given his time to work at the Feeding 44 events on campus.

Harms's parents are Susie Kreifels and Thad Harms.
