Peru, Nebraska - TRIOmaha performed on the Peru State College campus last week as part of 2019 Performing Arts Series. The Series offers events that are free and open to the public. The Performing Arts Series is celebrating an inaugural year in the Performing Arts Center which will include a grand opening for the newly remodeled Center on the evening of Friday, May 3, 2019.

Founded in 2016, TRIOmaha is a flute, oboe and piano trio based in Omaha, Nebraska. The trio is composed of flutist Alyssa Griggs, oboist Heather Baxter and pianist Christi Zuniga. All three musicians are members of the Omaha Symphony.id="attachment_14230" align="" width="300"The trio appear on stage. The Peru State performance featured pieces written for flue, oboe and piano by Mendelssohn, Lachner and Gauber.  The trio also performed more modern pieces by Eugenze Bozza and Jean-Michel Damase.

TRIOmaha’s main mission is to go beyond the traditional concert format in order to bring a new appreciation and understanding of classical music as a vibrant and exciting art form to new audiences across the Midwest. TRIOmaha creates accessible, colorful, and interactive programs.

In addition to participating in the Vespers Concert Series and the Omaha Chamber Music Society, TRIOmaha has performed at many Nebraska colleges and other local venues.
