Peru, Nebraska– Peru State College will host the first annual Research and Creativity Expo on campus on April 4. The event was developed out of guidance from the College’s new strategic plan.

Undergraduate and graduate students from Peru State will be presenting their research findings during the day.

Dr. Timothy Borchers said, “Holding the Research and Creativity Expo is a key part of our strategic plan. Student research has been found to increase student engagement and learning and lead to increased student success. Additionally, presenting original research or creative work will help our graduates stand apart from others when they apply for jobs or graduate school.”

Students can present their findings through poster or oral presentations. Poster presentations will include individual discussions as viewers walk by. Oral presentations will include short talks followed by questions from an audience.

Participating students will register and check in between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Students will present posters in the Live Oak Room of the Student Center from 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Oral presentations will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. in four separate break-out rooms.

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to view the student research presentations.

There will be a luncheon for students, faculty and alumni award winners at 11:00 a.m.
