Peru, Nebraska - Peru State College will host Nebraska Brass on Thursday, September 5, at 7 p.m. The event will be held in the Performing Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the public.

The eclectic performance will feature music from Leonard Bernstein's Westside Story, Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom of the Opera and Gioachino Rossini's the William Tell Overture. The Nebraska Brass will also play songs by the Beach Boys, the Beatles and Duke Ellington.


Nebraska Brass is one of the Midwest’s most popular brass quintets. Audiences young and old enjoy the group’s serious musicianship and lighthearted humor as they present a variety of music ranging from classical to popular, Dixieland, and jazz.


Nebraska Brass is comprised of musicians with a wealth of experience in both classical and commercial idioms. Members have performed with ensembles such as the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, Dallas Symphony, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Strategic Air Command Band (USAF) and Mannheim Steamroller.  In addition, members have toured and performed throughout the United States, Australia, Europe, South America, Japan, and the Caribbean with numerous musical ensembles.id="attachment_16096" align="" width="300"The members of the Nebraska Brass are holding their respective instruments. The group is made up of five members, Dean Haist, Ken Kielniarz, Mark Mendell, Brad Obbink, and Richard Ricker.
