Peru, Nebraska – Student Senate announced the winners of the student organizations and non-student organization entries of the 2019 Homecoming Parade. Entries were placed into the two different categories and judged based on creativity, effort, enthusiasm and the relevancy to the theme this year (To Peru and Beyond).

 

Student Organizations 

 

First Place: A joint entry by the Peru Student Education Association (PSEA), Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and Kappa Delta Pi.

Peru Student Education Association, along with the help of Council for Exceptional Children and Kappa Delta Pi presented Miss. Frizzle’s Magic School Bus in this year’s parade!

 

Second Place: CAB

 

Campus Activities Board rode in their space themed float. They are the coolest club on campus and they are not afraid to let you know it. CAB is dedicated to creating fun activities to bring the campus to life!

 

Third Place: Peru Theatre Company

 

Peru Theatre Company presented the Bobcats In Black in the parade on Saturday! These galaxy defenders are ready for anything, taking on alien invasions, keeping the peace, and memorizing lines all at the same time.

 

Non-student Organizations

 

First Place: A joint entry by the Professional Staff Senate and Support Staff Senate.

 

The Professional and Support Staff Senates strive to uphold the Peru State College Mission Statement by promoting life-long learning, fostering independent inquiry, and promoting the value of knowledge and discovery. The Senates do plenty to serve the community as well. Thank you for all of your efforts to improve our campus and community.

 

Second Place: Bingo Bender Family

 

The Bingo Bender Family showcased their spirit in a Star Wars themed golf cart. The family consists of Branden and Tesha Bender and their two sons, Daxx and Beaux Bender who rode in front of them having lightsaber duels.

 

Third Place: Peru State College National Alumni Association (NAA)

 

The NAA showed up to the parade with their spaceship-van. They help put on various events for the campus throughout the year including the annual Chili Feed hosted in February.
