Peru, Nebraska - Peru State College’s criminal justice program has been awarded fifteenth place in Affordable Colleges Online’s (ACO) annual higher education rankings.


ACO writes, "Peru State's criminal justice major is an interdisciplinary social sciences major that allows students to study law enforcement, corrections, juvenile justice, criminology, victimology, crime research methods and criminal and abnormal behavior. All courses are available both online and on campus."

"Students interested in studying criminal justice may earn either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science, and they have the option of choosing from 3 concentrations: justice administration, for students interest in gaining leadership or management skills; justice counseling, for students who are interested in human services or might want to go into alcohol and drug counseling; or law and society, for those interested in law, court or public administration work."

ACO continues, "Faculty are practitioners in the field, and students gain real-world education and experience by participating in conferences, hearing from law enforcement professionals, attending court hearings and visiting law schools."
