Peru Nebraska - The United States Constitution was signed 232 years ago, to celebrate Constitution
Day on Sept. 17, Phi Alpha Theta and the Social Science Club hosted a Hamilton themed
scavenger hunt.
Students and Faculty were invited to participate, collecting clues from faculty members
and solving riddles based on the making of the Constitution. Students and Faculty
who completed the scavenger hunt were entered into a drawing for three prizes.
The winner of the drawing were Emma Haning (Hamburg, Neb.) Asha Christie (Lavista,
Neb.), and Bethany Ullman (Beatrice, Neb.). They each won Caseys gift cards for $50,
$25, and $10 respectively. The winning faculty member was Angela Zarybnicky, the Student
Intervention Coordinator, who received a gift card for the Cat Cave.
Dr. Sara Crook, the faculty advisor for the Social Science Club and Phi Alpha Theta,
said, "The Social Science Club enjoyed the opportunity to pair their love of “Hamilton:
The Musical” with Constitution Day. The students thought it was also a good opportunity
for students to meet some of the friendliest Office Assistants on campus! We appreciate
all the cooperation from those Office Assistants and applaud those students and staff
who took the time to learn more about the Constitution.>
