Peru, Nebraska- Peru State College celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Week from January 21 to January 25. The events were hosted and organized by Peru State’s Council for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (CDEI).

Marivelle Magana from Dorchester, Nebraska, said: “Seeing everyone so willing to share their own personal dreams at CAB’s MLK Jr. event was nothing short of inspiring."

On Monday, Campus Activities Board (CAB), Turning Point USA and C^2 Spirit hosted I Have a Dream over the lunch hour in the Student Center Lobby.

The CDEI showed the documentary, I am MLK Jr., on Tuesday afternoon. Later, there was an open mic night in the dining hall, hosted by Black Student Union (BSU), Psychology Club and Kappa Delta Pi.

Christian Student Fellowship (CSF) and Peru State Catholic Union (PSCU) hosted MLK Jr. Trivia Night on Wednesday. Students gathered in the dining hall from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. to participate in the competition.

On Thursday, the MLK Jr. History Quiz and Games were hosted be Social Science Club, Alpha Mu Omega and People Respecting Individual Differences and Equality (PRIDE).

Peru State ended MLK Jr. Week with a day of service. Students gathered in CATS to make tie blankets for the homeless.
