Hastings, Nebraska - Peru State College’s new Bowling team participated in their first tournament. The team placed sixth in the tournament sponsored by Hastings College.

The team was formed in the fall and has eight members.  Five team members attended the tournament in Hastings: Blake Kimball (Papillion, NE), Alexous Hof (Red Cloud, NE), Dylan Rotert (Lincoln, NE), Quinton Flynn (Lincoln, NE) and Cameron Price (Lincoln, NE).

Peru State’s bowling club sponsor and Assistance Director of Residence Life, Philip Rogers commented that, “After practicing all last semester, the students were excited to compete against other schools in the area.”

Price adds, "It has been really fun bowling on a weekly basis again. I bowled for 5 years in high school and it has been great getting back into competition."

"As a team I think we performed really well for it being our first tournament together," Price wrote. "It was also the first competition for a couple of our teammates."

Flynn writes, "Bowling in a competitive setting again was fun. And I was impressed with how well we did . . . only practicing once a week, bowling on a sport oil pattern and the competition we bowled against."

"I was proud of how everybody did. It was a great experience."

Other competing schools included Hastings College, University of Nebraska, Iowa Western Community College, Kansas State University, Wayne State College and Colorado School of Mines.
