Peru, Nebraska - The groups collaborating under "ImPERUving as One" is hosting a town hall to discuss survey results and input from focus group discussions. The group of City of Peru officials, Peru State College officials, city residents and friends of the College began meeting over the summer to develop a vision and possible plan for collaboration between the City and College.

Darrin Reeves, mayor of the City of Peru, said in August, “From infrastructure to housing to economic development, the City and College have shared needs.”

“Creating a shared vision is the first step to meeting those needs.”

The surveys and focus groups were conducted by the University of Nebraska-Extension Office, with the goals of  identifying ways the community can move toward positive change and better understand Peru’s unique characteristics, community assets and potential opportunities.

All are invited to attend the town hall meeting on Wednesday, November 14 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Peru's City Hall. A brief summary of results will be provided at 6:30, followed by discussions and ways to become involved in the areas of interest.

Refreshments will be served. Questions about the town hall meetings can be directed to Vanessa Sherman at (402) 414-0448.

An inclement weather rescheduling date has been set for Monday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m.  Check www.perunebraska.org, social media or call City Hall at (402) 872-6685 in case of inclement weather.
