Peru, Nebraska- Peru State College’s Black Student Union is holding a Diversity and Inclusion Mini-Conference on on Friday March 23. The conference will be held in the Jindra Fine Arts Building.

The theme for the conference is “We Are All Notes in the Same Song" and will consist of several presentations focused on diverse topics, including Mental Health, Feminism, LGBTQA+, music and more. The event will culminate with the 10-Minute Play Festvial.

1:00 p.m. in Room 202: Living with a Monster: How a Family Navigates Mental Illness, presented by Jessica Wentling.

2:00 p.m. in Room 202: Words Matter: The Language Of The Feminist, LGBTQA+?, Transgender and Non-Binary Communities, presented by Alyssa Grell, Kennedy Whipple and Ashley Peiman.

3:00 p.m. in Room 205: Queer Artists: Telling Your Story, presented by Theresa Wood of P.R.I.D.E.

4:00 p.m. in Room 205:  Music Therapy: Using Music To Improve Your Mood, presented by Marissa Gomez, student editor-in-chief of the Peru State Times.

7:30 p.m. in the Jindra Black Box Theater: 10-Minute Play Festival, presented by The Peru Theatre Company.

For the last nine years, Peru State has joined Wayne State College in celebrating diversity and leadership. A conference has been hosted alternately on Peru's and Wayne’s campuses.
