Peru, Nebraska – Peru State Theatre Company will present The 10-Minute Play Festival on four nights in late March. The plays will be stated in the Jindra Fine Arts Building’s Black Box Theatre.

The 10-Minute Play Festival will consist of staged reading in collaboration with Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Region 5 playwrights. Featured playwrights include Candace Nelson, Isaac Otterman and Bosie Rand.

Performance dates:

Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. in conjunction with the Student Leadership and Diversity Conference

Tuesday, March 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m

Thursday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for other students and senior citizens.  Tickets are free for Peru State students, faculty and staff.

Started in 1969 by Roger L. Stevens, the Kennedy Center’s founding chairman, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) is a national theater program involving 20,000 students from colleges and universities nationwide annually. For 47 years, the organization has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States. KCACTF has grown into a network of more than 700 academic institutions throughout the country.

The purpose of the Peru Theatre Company is to provide all Peru State College students with the opportunity to participate in an active and enjoyable group, as well as gain experience in the performing arts by participating in plays, giving speeches and any other method of performance presented to an audience of their peers.
