Peru, Nebraska- Three Peru State students were recognized during the 2018 Society of Health & Physical Educators Nebraska (SHAPE NE) Conference. The SHAPE NE Conference was held from November 4-6 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Sydney Stevelinck (Lyons, CO), Destiny Worthey (Humboldt, NE) and Eric Brown (Council Bluffs, IA) were recognized as the Peru State College School of Education Students of the Year in Kinesiology, Health Education and Physical Education, respectively.
Stevelink and Worthey were also named as SHAPE NE Students of the Year in Kinesiology and Health Education, respectively.
Dr. Frank Lynott, assistant professor of health, physical education and recreation, accompanied the students to the Conference.
Dr. Lynott said, “In the past, Peru State College students have been recognized at the SHAPE NE Conference, but this is the first time two of our students have been awarded with the state-wide awards, and I am proud of these students and the support of the college of education faculty have provided these students and their efforts.”
