Peru, Nebraska - Students from several Nebraska colleges traveled to the Gallup Campus in Omaha, Nebraska, to Create, Lead and Inspire as they participated in the Nebraska Fall Leadership Conference hosted by Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). Twenty-one students and two faculty members attended from Peru State.

Participants from across the state attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and learn from many area business professionals. The group started in Gretna, Nebraska, where they learned from Ms. Johanna Boston, Chief Marketing Officer for the Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall. They dined at the LOCAL restaurant which donated a portion of the proceeds that evening back to Nebraska PBL.

A Peru State alum, Alec Gorynski, provided the keynote address Friday morning during the opening session. Gorynski is Vice President of Community Development and Corporate Philanthropy from First National Bank. His presentation was entitled, “Doing Great by Doing Good – Being a Part of a Socially Responsible Company.” Upon conclusion of the opening session, students had the opportunity to focus on topics related to technology, public relations, and leadership programs and resources.

Individuals were from Gallup, Tabitha, Cognitive Clinical Trials, Conagra, INSPRO Insurance, Sandhills Publishing, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, First State Insurance Agency, Valmont Industries and Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska.
