Peru, Nebraska – The Peru Student Education Association made valentines for Hillcrest Health Services in Bellevue.

Dr. Kelley Kingsley, professor of education, writes, “We found a request for valentines from the care center and thought this would be a fun outreach activity.”

Emily Whipple (Lincoln, Nebraska), president of PSEA, said, “Our PSEA advisor, Dr. Kingsley, told me about an idea to serve the Bellevue community. Hillcrest Health Services had requested handmade valentines to give to senior citizens.”

“It was a great way for our PSEA members to help out in the community outside of education. It was a lot of fun and very rewarding. ”

Josie Tennant adds, “It was an enjoyable experience making Valentine’s Day cards for the senior citizens. I loved watching everyone have so much fun in PSEA making the cards. It was a great way to give back.”
