Lincoln, Nebraska - At the 18th Annual Fall Continuing Professional Education Conference, three Peru State accounting students were awarded scholarships by the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs). students.  Recipients included Rachael Cole (Wymore, NE), Brooke Hays (Oxford, NE) and Ashley Crawford (Falls City, NE).

 

The scholarships were presented to accounting students who have completed their junior year, plan to sit for the CPA exam, have the interest and capabilities of becoming a successful accountant and are considering an accounting career in Nebraska. The instructional staff in accounting at each college or university review the candidate’s personality, leadership and character.

 

Nominations for scholarship recipients must be made by the Accounting faculty members at each college.

At their most recent conference, the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) awarded a total of $127,500 to 72 college students enrolled at 14 colleges and universities throughout the state.
