Deisley told The Crete News, “My dad was a PE teacher, and I basically came from a line of family members in education in general. My experiences I had in volleyball in college…my coach was a big fitness fanatic. She was a big role model and influence on me going into physical education.”

After completing her bachelors at Peru State, Deisley earned a master’s in health and physical education, dance and recreation from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

Deisley’s award will be presented at the annual SHAPE state conference on November 5 in Lincoln.
