Peru, Nebraska – Recent Peru State graduate, Chelsea Turek, will be published in one of The National Social Science Journal’s quarterly publications in 2018.  Her article, Poland: A History of War and Its Impact on Catholicism, was accepted for publication following a blind review.

Executive Director of the NSSA, Dr. Jerry Baydo, wrote Turek, “We are happy to inform you that your article Poland: A History of War and Its Impact on Catholicism has been accepted for publication in our strictly refereed national journal: The National Social Science Journal.”

Turek comments, “During the summer of 2016 I went to Poland on a religious pilgrimage. I thought it would be interesting to see what people perceived as holy and why. I wondered how Poland’s history of terrible wars and genocide was related.”

“The title of my paper is ‘Poland: A History of War and Its Impact on Catholicism’ and I had pilgrims going with me on the trip answer questions before and after the trip about what they believed was holy and why.”

Turek presented at the National Social Science Association Conference in the spring of 2017.

“Dr. Ruskamp suggested presenting at the NSSA conference and sending my paper to the Journal,” Turek writes, “I presented with people who had doctorate and master degrees.”

“Without Dr. Ruskamp I would not have had the opportunity to go to St. Louis and present on the same stage as professionals or to be published, I am grateful.”

Turek graduated from Peru State in May of 2017.  She is currently teaching English to elementary school students in China.

The National Social Science Journal has been the major journal of the National Social Science Association for 29 years and is a blind refereed journal.  The Journal accepts 12% to 15% of submissions.

Turek is originally from York, Nebraska.
