Peru, Nebraska- Peru State celebrated its annual Oakstock music festival on September 7. Artists
Ya Boi KT, Jadyn Keller and The Beat Seekers performed. Oakstock is hosted by the
Campus Activities Board (CAB).
Student Activities Coordinator Crystal Hutson said, "Oakstock this year was great!
CAB decided to host the event on a Friday night this year and we had over 120 students
attend the event."
"Similar to last year, we brought in local Nebraska music artists and students expressed
really enjoying Lincoln native, Jaydn Keller. Next year CAB hopes to expand the event
further by creating an event that feels more like a music festival. The hope is to
incorporate more local artists and other fun activities to enhance the event."
Oakstock was started in 2008 by Black Student Union, but continues the concert experiences
held on campus over the past decades. CAB has been hosting Oakstock for the past
several years.
