Peru, Nebraska – The Peru State College Art Gallery is hosting a new art show titled “Sugar Coated”.  The featured work was created by Susan Moore, Peru State assistant professor of art, and will be on display until Oct. 26th.

The Peru State Gallery’s hours are 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Moore writes of the show, “My underlying focus in this collection is to translate the temporal delight of food into the more during satisfaction of painting.”

“I manipulate scale, saturation, composition, realism and illusion to emphasize the subject matter and communicate the sensations of indulgence.”

Before her employment at Peru State, Moore was a Lead Studio Instructor at the University of North Texas where she taught Drawing and Design courses and obtained her MFA. She was also a Teaching Assistant at Iowa State University, the college that granted her a Bachelors of Fine Arts.

Moore has held many exhibitions across the United States and has participated in an international exchange program with China. Her areas of interest include painting, drawing, mixed media, and photography.
