Peru, Nebraska - Feeding 44 founder and Peru State College alumni, Rachel Henry, has been announced this year’s winner for the Inspire Award of Excellence in Business. Henry is a senior marketing consultant with Unanimous.

The awards were created by the Lincoln Journal-Star to celebrate women who have excelled in their professional lives and are considered leaders and role models of the community. The 4th Annual Inspire Awards were announced on September 12th at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Unanimous writes, "As a board member at VolunteerLinc, an organization that focuses on maximizing the positive impact of local volunteerism, volunteers her time on their fundraising and marketing efforts."

"Most recently, as a part of her MBA program, she provided pro bono consulting for the Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska," Unanimous continues. "She helped with an initiative to enhance their messaging and develop a platform for story sharing opportunities across Nebraska."

"The approach encourages Girl Scouts members to share personal stories focused on how the organization has impacted their lives and helped them to build leadership skills, courage, confidence, and character."

Henry received her bachelors in business management from Peru State College. During her time in Peru she founded Feeding 44, a partnership between Peru State College and the Food Bank of Lincoln that distributes food once a month. Today, the program remains active as a student-led organization and has served more than 9,000 people in need.
