Austin, Texas – Governor Greg Abbott appointed Dr. Feyi Obamehinti to the Texas Diabetes Council on August 15. Obamehinti’s term will run until February 1, 2023.

According to a press release from the Governor’s office, “The council addresses issues affecting people with diabetes in Texas and advises the Texas Legislature on legislation that is needed to develop and maintain a statewide system of quality education services to all people with diabetes and health professionals who offer diabetes treatment and education.”

Obamehinti currently resides in Keller, Texas, and is the Managing Director of Ravir LLC, an educational consulting and technical firm. She also serves as a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum, Women Impacting Public Policy Education Foundation, and National Small Business Association Leadership.

Obamehinti earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College, and a Doctorate in Education from Texas A&M University.
