Lincoln, Nebraska - Members of the Peru State Sesquicentennial Planning Committee attended a proclamation ceremony in the Nebraska State Capitol Building.  Governor Pete Ricketts hosted the event in the Warner Chamber and ceremoniously signed the proclamation previously issued to honor Peru State College's 150th Anniversary on June 20.

Among his remarks, Ricketts praised the College's long history and expressed how enjoyable his recent visit to campus had been.  Ricketts visited Peru State in May and served as the keynote speaker at spring commencement.

Dr. Sara Crook, professor of history, spoke on behalf of the Peru State delegation, "On behalf of President Hanson, the PSC Sesquicentennial Committee, and the entire campus community, we thank you, Governor Ricketts, for the proclamation recognizing our College’s 150th anniversary."

"It is our intention to continue Peru State College’s strong tradition of engaging our students, and our surrounding communities, in educational efforts into the next 150 years."
