Peru, Nebraska- Scott Riley was elected to the FBLA-PBL National Officer Team as the Mountain Plains Regional Vice President. Riley is from Auburn, Nebraska and is pursuing a Business Administration-Management major with a minor in Computer Management Information Systems.

Riley is one of five regional vice presidents on the National Officer Team. He will represent Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico.

“My duty is to improve our club throughout my one-year term in office, while also being the representative of my region,” Riley said. “Throughout the next year, I will visit a handful of different cities and states and promote our organization.”

For the 2017-2018 school year, Riley will be the President of Nebraska PBL after he campaigned for the position during the 2016-2017 State Leadership Conference in Kearney. Recently, Riley also competed at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California from June 24 to June 27.

“It was an amazing experience to represent Nebraska PBL and Peru State College in Anaheim,” Riley said. “I had a great support system and I could not have won my election without the help of our great state and school.”

Riley has also served as a Junior Town Counselor (2015) and Senior Town Counselor (2016) for the American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Boy’s State. In addition, he is an Eagle Scout and an American Scoutmaster for Troop 321.

Dr. Sheri Grotrian-Ryan, PBL advisor and professor of business, writes, "It is extremely exciting to have a Peru State student as a National PBL officer! Scott will do a phenomenal job representing our college, the state of Nebraska, as well as the region he serves.”
