Riley writes, “I had the privilege of speaking in front of over 2,500 members and advisors at both our opening and closing sessions.”

Riley was also the lead presenter for “Preparing for changes to the Career and Membership Achievement Program.” The workshop was for current PBL members and advertised, “This workshop will assist you in completing your current CMAP level, while also giving a peek of what is to come for the program.”

Riley continues, “I was also a part of the state officer tracks and I was one of the national officers running the PBL booth. In the state officer tracks, we helped teach state officers, throughout the country, about how to run their state chapter more effectively.”

He also served on a small panel about being a PBL national officer. The panel featured Riley and the Professional Division National President.

Riley writes another panel, “We also talked to FBLA officers about opportunities in PBL, and why it is important to continue in our organization after high school.”

In addition to the conference activities, PBL members were able to visit the city museum, attend a Saint Louis Blues game and tour St. Louis-based businesses like Edward Jones and the Better Business Bureau.

Riley is a Business Administration-Management major at Peru State College.  He is from Auburn, Nebraska.

Other Peru State College PBL members attended the National Leadership Conference held a week later in New Orleans. Three National Leadership conferences were held in total including the one Riley attended in St. Louis and a third conference in Buffalo, New York.
