Peru, Nebraska – After 50 years of teaching, Daryl Long retired from Peru State College in December 2016. To commemorate his passion for teaching and love for Peru State College, the PSC Foundation is hosting a retirement reception and banquet in his honor on April 29.
Dan Hanson, president of Peru State College, said, “Dr. Long’s dedication to students and to Peru State College are part of his legacy. This dinner is a celebration of his career and his impact on the southeast Nebraska community.”

Community members, alumni, friends and current students are invited to attend the dinner. The cost per person is $35 and $10 for current students. The evening begins with a reception at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. in the Student Center on the PSC campus.

“Leaving has been bittersweet. I stayed Peru State because the students and faculty are outstanding,” said Long. “It’s not every day that someone takes their first job and it is such a great fit.”

Join Dr. Long and others for an evening of laughter, food and fun. RSVP by contacting the PSC Foundation at (402) 872-2304 or by emailing Deborah Solie, Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, at dsolie@peru.edu. RSVPs requested by April 19.
