The Golden Leaf Awards are presented each spring to recognize student media excellence in print, radio, television, and web. Naber competed against student journalists from other NCMA member schools, including Wayne State College, Chadron State College, Doane College and Hastings College.

The judges for the newspaper competition are working journalists and editors from around the country. The advertisement design judge was Stacey Sharp, owner of Robert Sharp & Associates in Rapid City, SD. Sharp & Associates is an advertisement and public relations firm.

Naber produced two designs for the competition. The first was for family health and Sharp wrote, “Nice layout for so much information.” Naber’s second design was for a canned food drive and Sharp wrote, “Very nice use of graphic for vertical ad.”

Anna Naber is a graphic design major from York, Nebraska.
