Peru, Nebraska- The Peru State College "Prestige" Show Choir and the Peru State College Vocal Studio
will present “An Evening of Musical Theatre” on Thursday, April 7 at 5:30 p.m. and
Friday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the College Theatre. Admission is free.
Dr. Jacob Bartlett, assistant professor of music and director of the show said, “This
is a variety show of contemporary Broadway and off-Broadway musical selections. It
will include selections form Rent, Les Miserables, The Pajama Game, Newsies, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and more!”
Bartlett continues, “You’ll be able to see both choreographed and non-choreographed
choral selections from our thirty-voice show choir, 'Prestige,' plus solos and duets
from both 'Prestige' and the Vocal Studio.”
“This is a great avenue for us to showcase our broad musical talents in a way that
caters both to our audience and to our student performers. There will be something
for everybody on this show!”
The event replaces the annual “An Evening with the Madrigal Singers.”
