Peru, Nebraska- Clubs and colleges joined forces to donate twenty-five purses and zip-close sandwich
bags to Project Response, a domestic violence shelter in Auburn, Nebraska. The purses
and bags will be given to women, children and men who may need to leave an abusive
situation quickly.
The purses and bags were filled with hygiene items. Peru State Colleges’ Red Cross
Club collected the hygiene items and the PSC Black Student Union collected the purses
and the bags.
Peru State and Wayne State students prepared the donations during the 2016 state college
diversity and leadership conference. The Black Student Union hosted the conference
on the Peru State Campus.
The conference theme was "Look Inside The Person, Think Outside The Box.”
