Peru, Nebraska- Phi Alpha Theta presented a check to the Peru State Foundation to payback the costs
of the new historical marker. The new historical marker was erected in March.
Most of the funds were raised via the Murder Mystery Dinners held this spring and
last spring. Next year’s dinner will pay back the remaining loan from the Foundation.
Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of
history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the
exchange of learning and ideas among historians. PAT seeks to bring students, teachers
and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote
and assist historical research and publication by our members in a variety of ways.
