Peru, Nebraska- Seniors Chelsea Reznicek and Robbie Gilbert of Omaha were crowned Peru State College’s 2016 Homecoming king and queen on Saturday, October
1, by President Dan Hanson, First Lady Elaine Hanson and 2015’s Homecoming queen,
Chelsea Turek. The winners were elected by the Peru State student body.
Chelsea Reznicek is the daughter of Mark and Patty Reznicek. She is majoring in Biology,
with a minor in Exercise Science. After graduation, she plans on attending physical
therapy school in order to become a pediatric physical therapist.
On campus, Reznicek is a member of the softball team, Phi Epsilon Kappa, Student Athlete
Advisory Council, and is also a student ambassador for the Admissions Department.
She enjoys boating, eating all of the desserts she bakes and playing with her pet
chicken, Stanley.
Robbie Gilbert is the son of Jill and Ed Gilbert. He is majoring in K-12 Special Education
with a Coaching Endorsement, and plans on teaching special education and coaching
football after graduation.
On campus, Gilbert is a resident assistant, student ambassador and active intramural
participant. In his spare time, Robbie is a volunteer assistant football coach for
the Auburn Bulldogs and fantasy football guru.
