Two Peru State College Graphic Design majors recently completed work for community organizations.

Peru State Graphic Design major Anna Naber worked as an art intern at Southeast Design, a screen printing and signage shop owned by alumni Logan and Emilie Merz, in Auburn, NE. Naber began the internship in September and earned two credit hours during the Fall 2015 semester. Beginning in January, she will return to Southeast Design as a part-time employee. Naber noted that some of her favorite internship projects included T-shirt designs for the 2015 Nebraska’s Toughest Mile Race and a snack cart wrap from the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn.

Peru State Graphic Design major Shandi Strawhacker designed a full-color tri-fold brochure for the Auburn Development Council’s donation campaign during the Fall 2015 semester. Strawhacker began the design process in early November while working closely with client Kim Beger, Auburn Development Council Treasurer. Strawhacker stated that the opportunity provided her with experience in meeting client needs while executing effective fold mechanics and type organization. Her brochure design referenced American patriotism and used the red and blue color scheme of the Development Council’s logo.

In regard to Strawhacker's design work, Beger stated, "Auburn Development Council is very happy with the final product that Shandi provided us.  Working with Shandi was the most pleasant experience and we look forward to working with more Peru State College students."
