Peru, Nebraska- This year, a consolidated group of campus organizations is excited to announce the start of the 2016 holiday toy drive.  Last year over 100 items were collected and distributed to a regional organization for local youth in need.

Frank Lynott writes, “Phi Beta Lambda, the Hispanic Latino Student Association, the Black Student Union, Kappa Omicron Rho and the Peru Disc Golf Association look to meet or beat last year’s collection total.  For this drive we are accepting new and gently used toys.”

Collection boxes will be located on the Peru State College campus in TJ Majors, Hoyt, Jindra, the AWAC, the Student Center and the CATS Building from November 28 to December 9.

Lynott adds, “As you go out shopping or clearing out the closets, please keep in mind the estimated 16.8% of Nebraska children living in poverty.”
