Peru, Nebraska- Peru State College is pleased to present the art exhibit, “Recent Work and more”
by Terry Van Gundy. Van Gundy’s “Recent Work” features oil and clay monotypes (prints).
The show will be held in the Peru State College Art Gallery located in the A.V. Larson
building on the Peru State College campus in Peru, Nebraska. The show runs from August
22 to September 22. Gallery hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The reception is free and open to the public.
In a bio on Van Gundy it reads, “Terry loves the outdoors and is influenced by all
the sights and sounds that nature provides. He loves to fish and collects vintage
fishing lures and equipment. His work shows that influence, and the majority of his
work show some type of fish imagery. ”
“Recently, he has been experimenting with oil and clay monotypes. He loves the expressive
nature of the brush strokes that those mediums provide and the accidental ‘happenings’
that occur during the process.”
In addition to pursuing his art, Van Gundy is a member of the adjunct faculty at Peru
State where he teaches art exploration, pottery, watercolors and printmaking. Previously,
Van Gundy retired from Auburn Public Schools where he served as art teacher for 30
years.
Van Gundy received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska and
his Masters of Science from Peru State College.
