Peru, Nebraska- Seniors Gunnar Orcutt and Nicole Osborn of Omaha were crowned Peru State College’s 2017 Homecoming king and queen on Saturday, October 28, by President Dan Hanson, First Lady Elaine Hanson, 2016’s Homecoming queen, Chelsea Reznicek and the 1967 Homecoming queen, CC Evangelist Harmon. The winners were elected by the Peru State student body.
Nicole Osborn is the daughter of Andrew and Jennifer Osborn. She is majoring in K-12 Music Education, and plans to either work in music ministry or become an elementary music teacher. She holds leadership positions in Concert Chorale, Women’s Choir, Prestige Show Choir, and Christian Student Fellowship. She is also the Worship Arts team Leader at One Life Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. In her free time, Nicole enjoys drawing, shopping, and spending time with loved ones.
Gunnar Orcutt is majoring in biochemistry, with future plans to attend medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon. On campus, he is involved in football, undergraduate biological research, Student Athlete Advisory Council, and is a Resident Assistant. In his free time, he enjoys reading, watching Netflix, hanging out with his family and dogs, and eating good food.
This fall Orcutt was named a Heart A.O. Duer Award winner and he was the first Peru State student-athlete ever named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
