Jeff Harvey named Businessperson of the Year

Kearney, Nebraska – Jeff Harvey was recognized as Businessperson of the Year at the 2017-2018 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference. He was nominated for the award by the Peru State College PBL Chapter.

Harvey writes, “I am honored to receive this award and proud to represent Good Samaritan Society–Auburn.”

“Thank you to Peru State’s Phi Beta Lambda for nominating me! We are very fortunate to have Peru State College in Southeast Nebraska. They are a partner, supporting many different organizations, and are leading the way in providing education and personal development for their students.”

Dr. Sheri Grotrian-Ryan, professor of business and Peru State’s PBL advisor writes, “We nominated Jeff for his work with our chapter this year. He’s been a great supporter.”

The award recognizes outstanding businesspersons from the private business sector throughout Nebraska who have contributed to the success of PBL at the local level. Each local chapter may nominate one person for Businessperson of the Year.

Harvey serves as the administrator for Good Samaritan Society-Auburn and has been there for thirteen years. Good Samaritan Society-Auburn provides skilled nursing care, assisted living service and home health services to the elderly and those in need.

Jeff Harvey

Harvey started his career in health care at the young age of sixteen as a certified nursing assistant. He later became a licensed practical nurse and then finished his studies at Bellevue University in health care administration.

Harvey’s first assignment as an administrator was in Alma, Nebraska, for Good Samaritan where he served for six years before transferring to Auburn.

Harvey is a native of Nebraska growing up mainly in central Nebraska, however he also lived in Papua New Guinea for three years where his parents served as missionaries. He currently lives in Auburn with his family: wife Chris and children Noah and Hannah. Bella and Sophie, their two dogs, are a big part of the family as well.

Harvey is an avid Husker fan and frequently attends football and basketball games. He also enjoys golfing, reading and home improvement projects. He especially enjoys spending time with his family. Jeff is a member of the Auburn Rotary Club and serves on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
