Peru, Nebraska- Outstanding alumni were recognized in for their remarkable professional achievements, commitment to community and support of Peru State College. Jeff Greenwald, class of 1971, was recognized as the School of Professional Studies’ 2019 recipient of the Thousand Oaks Alumni Excellence Award.
Dr. Dan Hanson, president of Peru State College, said, “For the School of Professional Studies, we honor Jeff Greenwald’s contributions to the business industry through his work at INSPRO Insurance – attaining the highest possible leadership roles at this company.”
Jeff Greenwald is currently Chairman Emeritus at INSPRO, Inc. and also serves as a member of the INSPRO Council Committee. He served as President of INSPRO, Inc. from 1996 to 2015 and Chairman from 2015 to 2018. INSPRO, Inc. is a leading independent risk-management and benefits agency with locations in Fremont, Lincoln, Omaha, Wahoo and West Point in Nebraska as well as Des Moines, Iowa.
Greenwald’s early insurance career included working with Union Insurance Company in the claims department, then moving to the marketing division. His agency experience began with three years in a small agency before joining INSPRO in 1980, opening its first branch office in Wahoo.
A Lincoln native, he has served as a past board member of the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development. He is a past member of the University of Nebraska President’s Advisory Council, currently serves on the Columbia Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors and is a member of First Plymouth Church in Lincoln, NE.
In 2017, Greenwald received the Nebraska Phi Beta Lambda Businessperson of the Year Award, which recognizes outstanding businesspersons from the private business sector throughout Nebraska who have contributed to the success of Phi Beta Lambda at the local level. Greenwald, with colleagues, gave several informative presentations on business topics to students on the Peru State campus. Greenwald was nominated for this award by current Peru State students.
Paul Fell (School of Arts and Sciences), Lori Broady (School of Education) and Marilyn Schlake (School of Graduate Studies) were also recipients of the Thousand Oaks Alumni Excellence Award.
