Hayes recognized as Volunteer of the Year

Auburn, Nebraska– Peru State’s Danny Hayes, and his wife Nikki Hayes, were recognized as volunteers of the year on Monday, October 15, during the Auburn Chamber of Commerce banquet.

Danny Hayes, a criminal justice professor at Peru State, volunteers for Nemaha County Feeding 44 and helps raise funds for Peru State scholarships. He also works with the American Criminal Justice Association.

Nikki Hayes works on the board for Nemaha County Extension and runs Earth & Owl Yoga in Auburn. Her and Danny are also co-founders of Aunt Bea’s Apiary.

The Auburn Chamber of Commerce Director Tonia Greiner said, “It is with love in their hearts that they strive to make this world a better place for future generations.”
