Undergraduate Admissions Requirements
You currently study or plan to study in the United States on a visa
Admission Process
- Submit an International Student Application. Applicants must indicate the major course of study that they intend to complete. All on-campus international students must attend the main campus of Peru State College, located in Peru, Nebraska. International Students may start their education in the fall (August) or spring (January).
- Arrange to have your official transcripts sent to Peru State College
High School Transcripts
- Applicants who have graduated from a United States high school and are applying as entering freshman need only to have the U.S. high school send a sealed official copy of their transcript indicating the final cumulative grade point average and confirmation of graduation.
- Applicants who have graduated from a high school outside the United States and are applying as entering freshman must provide an official English transcript translation confirming the applicant has successfully completed all requirements equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma. Final translated transcripts must be accompanied by an official transcript in the student’s native language. If we are not able to determine that the diploma is generally equivalent to a U.S. high school level diploma or we are not able to accurately determine the authenticity of the transcript, we will request the student to submit the transcripts to an independent evaluation service.
Evaluation Services Accepted by Peru State:
- InCred (Preferred method)
- Peru State accepts evaluations from any member of NACES.
College Transcripts
- Applicants who wish to transfer credit from another U.S.-based college or university need to have the institution send an official copy of the complete transcript in a sealed envelope direct from the school. Students who have attended more than one U.S. institution must submit transcripts for all institutions attended. Applicants who have earned an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or have evaluated documents indicating they have earned the equivalent of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited U.S. institution, do not need to provide an official high school transcript. Applicants must provide an official transcript from the regionally accredited U.S. institution verifying they have earned an associate or bachelor’s degree. Applicants who attended U.S. colleges or universities, but did not complete a degree, in addition to providing the college or university transcripts, may also be required to provide an official high school transcript.
- Applicants who want to transfer credit from colleges or universities outside of the United States are required to submit official transcripts, translated into English by a foreign credentials evaluation service, from all colleges or universities attended. We highly recommend prospective students use InCred to evaluate all transcripts. InCred will complete a course-by-course evaluation. InCred will send their evaluation directly to Peru State. We will consider this evaluation to be an official document.
- Exemptions: Transcripts from Canadian institutions recognized by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada will be considered on the same basis as those from regionally accredited U.S. institutions. All others must be evaluated. Applicants who have earned credits from a non-U.S. higher education institution, but who did not earn the equivalent of a regionally accredited U.S. associate’s or bachelor’s degree may be required to provide an official high school transcript.
Approved Evaluation Services
- InCred is our PREFERRED method. For students who are planning to compete in athletics at Peru State College, use of InCred services is required. It is optional for all other students. The documents submitted to InCred for evaluation will be considered to be official documents. InCred will send their evaluations directly to Peru State College. It is the student’s responsibility to pay for all evaluations of high school transcripts from another country. It is appropriate to select InCred's Basic Evaluation if you have not yet attended a university or postsecondary institution, do not plan on receiving credits for coursework completed abroad, or have only attended a postsecondary institution in the United States. Only transfer students that are seeking credit for their college coursework abroad would need to do select Incred's course-by-course evaluation.
